Hallelujah

I've been inspired by some background artist who does character art on their socials on the side. If characters are their side gig I can't imagine what their backgrounds look like, all these art school artists are crazy good.

This girl gives me kayle from league of legend vibes. Yes it is a girl, believe it or not I don't draw breasts not because of the nsfw factor, but because I am bad at drawing them.

Don't draw drunk....

I didn't draw this while drunk, I tried to do something but it was not post worthy lol.

Perfect cube

Ah yes, a perfect cube in 3 point perspective. It doesn't get much better than that. Also, regarding measuring in 3 point, is it still possible to scale buildings and find the relative distance to the ground plane from the camera? I have no clue but I'll look into it tomorrow by testing some ideas.

A lot of brain pain

Just some random drawings, got inspired by a cyberpunk themed anime trailer for them, that I forgot the name of of course. I wanted the drawings to be in 3 point to practice, my current problem is figuring out the leg length with foreshortening. I have been drawing legs without enough foreshortening into space, so the figures look shorter in general.

I may be watching a certain show again...

I've been spending the whole day with my cousin catching up and talking about whatever comes to our mind. We've also started watching a certain anime that I'm sure nobody will guess...

3 point is torture

I don't really know what I doodled today, but it stemmed from me not wanting to do any more 3 point perspective. Also I got to meet my cousin again today after 8 years. It was cool since he was the one person I hanged out with the most whenever I visited Turkey. Since he was roughly my age and spoke really good English for his age too we got along well.

Frustrating day

Just another one of those days where you feel like everything you've learned has been all for nothing. Basically I tried drawing from imagination (not in pics) and I got results looking like I haven't studied at all for the past 6 months. I know I've learned stuff but I feel like it hasn't really come together yet, or that I'm missing/overthinking something... probably both at this point. I'm not depressed or anything but it's definitely on my nerves. I'll keep chugging along though, this is all probably due to recent lack of sleep anyways.

3 point perspective is cool and complicated

I didn't know how to draw ellipses in 3 point until later so that's why they look a little wonky. Too late for me to type a long post, so I'm gonna hit the hay, good night.

An attempt was made

Man I hate posting on my phone, it takes so long to do basic things. I have to upload images one by one if I want them in the correct order, cause I can't drag images on my phone. Been really considering buying a budget laptop in the future, that can run Photoshop as well of course.

That turtle I drew, it's bad. But it was really hard to draw because as I learned... I was doing it wrong. I was trying to draw the scales how I was seeing them instead of how I saw them. To prove this I redrew it in the top and bottom right corners and figured out what mistake I was making, and it turned out much better. I will talk about it in detail within a post or two along with a re-draw.

Also, I skipped ahead of the perspective course to learn some 3 point perspective. Ever since I started the course I desperately wanted to learn and be able to draw things accurately in 3 point so I will be doing that to further my perspective progress. I'm only doing this for now because from skimming the other lessons, this is the only one that doesn't need a buttload of tools, so I will be working on it until it does need them

Is that... a male?

Wow, a drawing of a dude on this blog, with what appears to be some form of scoliosis. I drew this up for the blog post since a lot of studying I did today was watching some course lectures. I drew this with ink in one go so I didn't really construct at all, just thought a lot about where to put the line for the contours. It produced something half decent yet with obvious flaws (namely gesture) that construction would've fixed for me.

I've got to say though, viscom has done wonders for me so far. I was doodling in my sketchbook today and viscom has without a doubt helped me with my drawing skills, I'm glad I stuck with the course, albeit slowly :)

Big Tortle

Only got another hour in today, but considering I wasn't in the mood for it and still did it anyway, I think I did quite alright. A good portion of the hour went to the viscom exercises I used to do.

Also, just finished the last three episodes of Soul Eater a minute ago... The show was great and everything, but that final battle/episode... pretty lame resolution not gonna lie. Although if I was the target audience I would've been pretty happy with it. It was my first anime ever I was introduced to back in 2014, so it had some nostalgia to it, but even then I would say it was great overall. Might have to draw some fanart again of the main characters some day. Anyway, this is a art blog, not a anime review blog.

Speaking of, will Mirai Nikki ever have a close contender? The world may never know.

Tooooortle

Could only get in a small drawing of a turtle for Father's Day, he's a bit smaller than the size of my palm, but he's gonna turn into a big boy tomorrow.

Me and my sister went out shopping and got a breadbox for our dad. He cultures his own yeast and orders special flower to make his own bread so we thought it'd fit. Not sure where his interest in bread comes from but I'm not complaining. We also bought ice cream for the family on our way back.

MEGAPOST 2

Why hello there, it's been a minute, hope you've been doing well.

I have not forgotten my viscom studies. Here is roughly 3/4ths of my drawing progress since I have arrived in Turkey. As you can tell from a few pages, my frustrations were not hiding anywhere, especially my last post with the turtles (?). However, I have learned a lot from my daily studying so far and think I've made some pretty good improvements in viscom. Actually, the first image on this post is the same octopus I drew in the last megapost (May 23), and I think the improvements are clear to even non-artists.

Also, I've picked up daily reading as a habit. My goal has been to read one hour a day, which has been going on for roughly 8 days now I think. I just finished the book Atomic Habits by James Clear. Nothing earthshattering... yet (more on that tomorrow), the information is only as good as it is put to use, so we'll see how well I implement the things I learned. I even downloaded a habit tracking app on my phone. It even reminds me when I haven't checked or logged a habit by a time I set. And yes, you bet, I have made a Post Blog habit in the app, so I'm feeling confident.

Also, this is the last megapost.

He's alive!!!!

I'm in Turkey right now, and I'm drained to my very core, no energy left. I mean, look at these drawings, what ARE these??

Rough patch

I've been doing a ton of modeling and rigging in Blender recently but haven't really been drawing much. I average about 35 hours a ...
