I unfortunately had a bit of a health scare recently. About a week ago I woke up with a headache behind my left eye which came with an awful 'postdrome', which is like the after-effect portion of a migraine. The headache itself lasted for 2 days, starting behind my eye then moving up to the back/top of my head. But the pain wasn't that bad, maybe a 3 out of 10. What was awful was the brain-fog like postdrome that came with it, which I still have a bit of even today.
The best way I could describe it was like I was lagging half a second behind what was happening. If you said "catch" and threw something at me, I would have started reacting after a half second delay went by. If I shifted my gaze to look at something, my vision was fine, but it took me half a second to process what I was looking at. Motion on a screen threw me off a little--the only time I felt still was when I was lying down not leaning on my arm or anything. Actually, using a screen at all kind of made me motion sick.
It wouldn't even have been that bad if it was just a day, but it only got better about 10% each day. So for about I week I did nothing but lay in bed, and occasionally went walking, which helped my postdrome a lot. I am mostly recovered now, but I still have a hint of it. I have been taking it easy so I can make a full recovery, hopefully.
The worst part is that I basically did this to myself. Around 4 days before the headache started, I was working on a Blender project that required a lot of problem solving and vector math. I worked on it every day for maybe 12 hours. It got so bad that when I went to bed, I would wake up 2 hours later and find myself mid-thought trying to solve some problem or equation. I was already sleeping poorly, so solving equations in my sleep was just the cherry on top. Also, think I was a bit dehydrated at the time, and not eating the best I could.
There were also some signs of my brain fatiguing earlier on in the week. Like my brain would suddenly catch onto high-contrast things that were just in my peripheral vision. So maybe about 4 times a day, I would look over my shoulder to look at my bright pen on my desk that was always there. Not the pen everytime, but something like that. Also, I had a headache developing the more I worked on the project. Same spot behind my left eye, but it didn't come with the postdrome.
Anyways, I'm doing much better now. It improved everyday so that's the good news. Still going to take it easy for a while, hopefully none of it lingers.
The drawing is unrelated and is not a character, just something that came to mind.
