Awful memory to work with

Needed to post something a little more refined after the past two posts. Also, I've been doing more of the memory drawing exercises. Tomorrow I will post about my thoughts on it.

brutal time management

I keep taking naps and waking up right before midnight, so yesterday I rushed to the computer because I had like 3 minutes. This time it was 10.

Got turbohumbled

I finally started those memory drawing exercises and boy was I humbled. I'll show them tomorrow when I have more done, as I didn't really spend that much time on them. But I definitely got a taste of what I was in for.

Speeddrawer

I drew this in like 6 or 7 minutes... not even sure if that's fast or not anymore.

oops

I forgot I did a profile angle yesterday too xD, but I shaded it in a little.

Also, I didn't realize when I was making it, that is her shoulder doing the 45 degree angle to the bottom right, ok?

That's her shoulder.

Low-hanging fruit

Drew this side portrait cause I'm relatively fast at doing them, took me 5 minutes.

Supposedly, DaVinci was a procrastinator.

I have been procrastinating on that memory drawing book because I'm working double time on my Blender stuff for a personal project I'm working on. They say DaVinci was a procrastinator when it came to his commissions, that helps me cope a little bit. Art takes time, ya know?

iSpy

Again, quick little doodle, about 12 minutes. I didn't really use that technique this time around, it's too time consuming and exhausting. Have not started those exercises from Memory Drawing yet, but I'll get around to it.

I think I got better at hair a little

Quick 10 minute doodle, still experimenting with that visualizing technique I talked about yesterday. For this one, I started at the nose then went straight to the hair, then the neck, back, etc.

I want to look into this technique more and more before I try and give any advice on it. Currently, I'm supplementing with a book, Memory Drawing by Darren R. Rousar. I've gone over all of the history and science it presents at the front of the book and will start the exercises tomorrow.

Also, I'm still working on Blender stuff, about 20 hours a week for Blender and another 20 in Krita so far. Mostly doing rigging and sculpting still, while getting into some texture work.

Draw your Mind

I've been experimenting with a new drawing technique (for me) called Visualizing. You imagine what the drawing should look like on the paper, and then draw it. I find it helping a lot with making something I'm satisfied with, even if it doesn't look totally correct. Still trying to get better at it though. For instance, the bottom drawing, I just started from the eyes and went from there. Also, I worked more on the Yukki and Yuno piece.
