Never messed up harder before

 

My take on Pugnala was... terrible. After closer inspection, I don't think that's a ponytail at all, actually I have no clue what her hair style she has, or if that's even her hair. The vampire collar came out of nowhere, but it isn't too bad for her character I guess... yeah I'm not really sure. Did some studying today, but not much to actually share, it was basically note-taking.

Has been taking up all of my time... I procrastinated all day on my art because this game was too addicting, like 12 hours just gone. This is a memory sketch of uhh... forgot her name. The one with the guns, Pagnala I think was her name, phone posting so too lazy to look it up. Also the characters are 32x32 pixels big so turning a 2 pixel face into a character was kinda tough.

Enough procrastinating though, you will be seeing art gains tomorrow, money back guarantee. Won't be a thumb-sized sketch tomorrow.

Just some sketching for a post, I think I've been getting better at shapes. Also, reworked my photoshop UI setup for a fresh feel, looks a lot cleaner now.

But seriously, did some personal work and figure drawing studies. Classes are going well, but I was too sleepy today and mistakenly did a forearm workout that make drawing painful the rest of the day, titled me quite a bit.

Did some good studying today, and a good amount of personal work too. Will be posting a lot more volume of work starting tomorrow. These are my homework assignments, I also did figure gestures as well, too lazy to show them.

Typing this I realized I don't really post any of my gesture stuff, I don't really do it often, but I used to a ton. I consider it one of my stronger points even though I have problems implementing it into my own work... These are two minute gestures, out of the fifteen that I did in today's session, these three were the strongest. This is for a figure drawing course that I'm following, and I have to do 100 of them in a week starting from today.

Also, I put a lot of hours into personal work and did a critique for someone in a discord, spent a good 5 hours today drawing.

Well I did technically start on that painting

 

 Here's the lay-in sketch for the painting assignment I'm working on, it's a scene from the movie Bigger Than Life. I've never seen it, just saw it on some film website and used it. This will turn into a value study by tomorrrow.

Getting there

Lately it's been a lot of drawing, tomorrow however I will be doing the painting assignments for my other classes so those should be something fresh. Also I worked a bit more on the cylinder design, calling it there as I have other stuff for that class to do.

A little rough around the edges (literally) for this one. The homework was to make a interesting cylinder design by only adding more cylinders, it was fun.

Just some grayscale painting to get the rust off, in preparation for the digital classes I'll be doing.

Hmm, I don't know what to say about this one since I don't know why I did it. Maybe I should actually draw a gun from reference instead of doing lego guns for once. Just a quick thumbnail for the blog I guess, and yeah I think it's bad too.

Probably falling apart

 

Don't know whats happening with me lately. Woke up with the same sore throat, bloodshot eyes, bumps on the edges of my tongue, and just plain tired. Some websites said bumps around the edges mean dehydration, but I thought I drank a decent amount of water on my flight here, guess not. Oh well, tomorrow is Monday, and it will be time to resume the regularly scheduled programming excuse-free.

Just a sketch I did when I got home after the flight, 12 hours passed by fast. I am now completely exhausted and have to unpack. I will pick up the pace again Monday by doing my assignments, until then I'm unpacking and recovering.

A sort of a project I'm working on, doing viscom exercises everyday since July 24th, takes roughly 20 minutes each. I plan on doing it for a couple months and see if I learn anything that sticks with me mentally rather than muscle memory. I'll get back to you guys on what I mean when I finish, kinda hard to explain.

Will be flying tomorrow back home so we will see how the next post goes.

Also for the sketch idk guys I just put the pen on the paper and do a few lines and this is it.

NEW STUDY PLAN YAYY

So, I am ditching the current study plan.

While my stay here in Turkey I realised that I don't have that much time left. I wanted to be ready to make a portfolio by the end of the year but here I am going overkill on perspective when I don't have any time to be doing so. I think I learned much more than the average 8-week perspective course taught in art schools (from what I can tell in the perspective class unit descriptions) so I think it's time for me to move on.

That being said, I am going to be taking 10, 8 week courses over the next 4 months while making personal work on the side. The emphasis being on design and painting while still continuing viscom of course.

Also, just a heads up... The next two days will likely be low effort posts as I am preparing to leave for the States on the 4th. Gonna spend alot of time with family and packing.
